4 PaDayon barangay captains’ loyalties wavering – Dacer

TROOPING TOWARDS THE OPPOSITION? As local opposition Second District Cong. Rufus Rodriguez and those among his ranks join PaDayon Pilipino Mayor Constantino Jaraula and other administration city councilors, City Councilor Alexander Dacer, a top-ranking PaDayon political lieutenant admitted that there are four PaDayon Pilipino barangay chairpersons in the First District of Cagayan de Oro whose loyalties to the political party are wavering.

His statement was made in response to reports that there are 27 PaDayon Pilipino barangay chairpersons – 12 from the First District and 15 from the Second District– had left their political party’s fold.

This together with a PaDayon Pilipino top-ranking leader Gusa Barangay chairman Enrico Salcedo, the recently hired consultant for opposition First District Cong. Rolando Uy, the political enemy of PaDayon Pilipino titular head Vicente Emano.

Dacer who served as president of the Association of Barangay Chairpersons (ABC) denied reports that 27 barangay chairpersons had all jumped ship with Salcedo.

However, Dacer disclosed that they have been receiving reports that four of the PaDayon Pilipino barangay chairpersons from Uy’s First District are now seriously contemplating or had already left their political party or where never considered as party members in the first place.

They include Besigan chairperson Melenio Minister, Mambuaya barangay chairman Agustin Bagongon, Patag barangay chairman Benedicto Fabricante and Canitoan barangay chairperson Marlyn Lagumen.

“Pero ang uban niini nagduha-duha lang nga magpabilin ba sila ang uban nagsour-graping lang (But some of them are still actually weighing their options while the others are just feeling bad or slighted over some matters with the party),” he said.

Dacer is convinced that the other barangay chairpersons in the First District who are PaDayon Pilipino hardliners were allegedly reported to have joined Uy’s fold will still remain with Emano.

He said these barangay chairpersons are “very close” to Emano not just because the latter served as mayor of the city for almost a decade but for some “other special reasons” that he could not disclose to the public.

“Lisud na kaayo isulti pa nako ngano… pero dili nako modagan pagka-kagawad kung mamalhin kini sila (It is too difficult to explain why they will not leave PaDayon Pilipino…but I promise that I will no longer run for another term as city councilor should they leave our party),” he said.
