PGMA to pursue peace, super region projects in Mindanao — Dureza
May 1, 2008
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo wants her administration to push forward the peace and development of Mindanao along with the super region mega projects nationwide.
Presidential Adviser on Peace Process Jesus Dureza, during the 10th Mindanao Super Region Inter-Agency meeting held recently at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall of Lanao del Sur, said that President Arroyo is committed to pursue continued peace negotiation with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) as well as the implementation of various super region projects not only in Mindanao but throughout the country.
Secretary Dureza added that the GRP panel is now carefully studying the issue on ancestral domain agreement with the MILF which he describes as beneficial to the peace negotiation.
Dureza also stressed the total involvement of the local government units and the Bangsamoro people in finding lasting solution to the decades-long Mindanao conflict. (PIA-Marawi)
