Working online here in Cagayan de Oro

May 30, 2008

Hi. Liza here.

Jobs online are easy to find and can very well be a very lucrative source of income.

However, such jobs entail a lot of risks and can be very tricky. What you thought could have been an online job that is really going to pay off might turn out to be something bogus or a total rip-off with you doing a number of articles, answering tons of surveys, designing ultra-difficult websites, troubleshooting some cranky connections, being a telemarketer, linking websites, SEOs, etc. etc. etc. and yet end up empty-handed.

In Cagayan de Oro City, I have a number of friends who are already earning a lot with part-time online jobs and businesses or “abugadi” even before I thought it possible to earn anything online. There is Sir Cris Diaz who is a columnist and editor of Mindanao Gold Star Daily, Mark Francisco who sits as a lifestyle and business editor of Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro but who was with Philippine Star and Businessworld, Joel Escol of Mindanao Gold Star and even former ABS-CBN hot reporter Kim Quilinguing among others.

A number of my media friends know that there can be a lot of money online if you just know how to go through with it. I am very thankful to them for showing me the way through it all before I left Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro as head reporter for almost seven years.

I may now be connected with Mindanao Gold Star Daily as one of their correspondents but I also do part-time work for super Google Gurus Joel Comm and Dan Nickerson. Actually, this website and its templates are even their way of helping me out. They do pay me $5.00 for each of my 300-500 words quality articles. And of course, I could not be any happier that I have this fall back job that I can take on should I decide not to yield to my “photojournalistic cravings.”

So far, I have earned almost US $300.00 for a month (April 2008) just for writing for Sir Joel, Sir Dan and some other European clients that my aunt tossed my way. Nevertheless, my experiences with them showed me how easy it is to earn online even if you are in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines, Asia…Heheehe.

Thus, I am sharing with you some guidelines and in time will be blogging all about them some more in my other future articles. For now all I can advice you to do is open a PayPal Account and then get a Visa Card or a Master Card that you can use to transact online. The Visa Card or a Master Card can be used to get you a verified PayPal account. This Visa/Master Card and your PayPal can be your powerful tools in collecting your monetary compensation for the job you did online.

I hope you will read my next article on how to get a Visa Card in Cagayan de Oro and getting it verified with PayPal. And you know what? It only costs P350.00 a year to get one and you can even do it online.

So, stay tuned.
