4 MV Princess of the Stars passengers from MisOr, CDO still missing

Four residents from Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro are now listed as among the missing passengers of MV Princess of the Stars that sunk in the sea waters of Sibuyan island, Province of Romblon.

The missing passengers include Marlon Guinitaran from Barangay Mandangoa, Balingasag, Misamis Oiental who can be identified through a scar on his face and that his wedding ring which is engraved with the word “FARAH”.

Also, Marlon Mindor from Siayon, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, Evelio Peralta from Zone 10, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City and Amelina Genelago from Purok 1, Barangay Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City.

Misamis Oriental Gov. Oscar Moreno through the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council and Philippine Rescue 2000 chairperson Micheal Angelo Bustamante are now coordinating for their rescue.

Moreno said, “We have to bring them back.”

They already sent the followiung Philippine Rescue 2000 members RO5 Bonifacio Cayetuna, RO4 Ernesto Napoco, RO4 Joel Vedra, RO3 Jerry Salvana and RO3 Ronald Mercado.

Bustamante who is also the incident commander had issued a mission order to the above rescue officers “to proceed to San Fernando, Rombon and assist in the search, rescue and retrival operations in connection with the sinking of the MV Princess of the Stars.”

“You are hereby enjoined to coordinate with the Philippine Coast Guard, PNP, the local government units and other government agencies in the area to achieve your mission,” Bustamante’s mission order reads.

He added that the following are also supporitng the group: Cagayan de Oro Cong. Rufus Rodriguez, NTC-10 director Teodoro Buenavista, DILG-13 regional director Rene Burdeos, Negros Navigation and provincial board members Jimmy Caina and Jun Kho.
