Jaraula steps up Haloween Day Security, issues new traffic security

Law enforcement agencies are now coordinating their security measures for this year’s commemoration of the All Saints and All Souls Day.

The City Government of Cagayan de Oro under Mayor Constantino Jaraula said he has already coordinated with the police and military to make sure that all security measures are in place just before taking off to Manila on official business.

He said he is not only concerned with the security of the five major cementeries in the city but also those who would be leaving or arriving here in the city.

Jaraula said he has ordered additional forces to look into the security of the bus and public utility jeepney (PUJ) terminals particularly at the Bulua Westbound Integrated Bus and PUJ terminal, Agora bus terminal and Gusa PUJ Eastbound Terminal as well as increase the security at the Macabalan pier and at the Lumbia Domestic Airport.

“We are now in heightened alert,” he said over radio interviews.

Jaraula said has issued issued Executive Order No. 2008 CGJ 61 ordering a special traffic scheme on all roads leading to Bolonsori and Bulua public cemeteries, Divine Shepherd Memorial Gardens, Greenhills Memorial Park, Oro Gardens Memorial Park and Chinese Cemetery on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.

He said he has ordered the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) to implement this traffic scheme during the two-day observance.
He added that the public is now advised to observe the RTA-recommended traffic scheme in order to ensure orderliness in all public and private cemeteries in the city during the twin observance.
