A 17-year old minor was shot three times on the head and once at the back by unidentified men while waiting for his lover last Sunday night at a waiting shed in Phase I, Villa Ernesto, Gusa this city.
The victim’s father Reynald Oquiton, Sr. of Purok 3-B, barangay Gusa did not discount the possibility that the brutal murder of his son may have some connections to how the latter was having a relationship with a minor daughter of a top-ranking police officer.
He said his son was not involved in any vices or any illegal activity but even stopped going to school just to work for one of the construction firms at the above subdivision just to help out in their family’s household expenses.
He added that his son does not even have a mobile phone but keeps in contact with the police officer’s daughter through another neighbor’s mobile phone.
Cogon Police Precinct PO1 Analiza Alicando told Gold Star Daily that their police officers are still investigating the murder incident that occurred around 6:30 p.m. and was reported to their office at around 11:55 that same evening.
However, she said their Philippine National Police Regional Crime Laboratory Office P/Insp. Melcedaca Villanueva already conducted a scene of the crime investigation together with their Cogon Police Precinct SPO2 Howard Lagsa.
Alicando said their investigators were able to recover numerous empty shells and slugs believed to be from a caliber .45 handgun.
She said witnesses to the crime include a bystander and a taxi driver who both claimed that there were two unidentified men who were riding a red XTRM single motorcycle.
She added that the witnesses saw the red motorcycle heading straight for the city proper after firing at the victim at close range.
Oquiton voiced hopes that the Ballistic tests on the empty shells and slugs would help trace the persons behind the brutal murder of his son.
This particularly as a cartographic sketch was impossible to produce from the witnesses considering that the perpetrators were wearing helmets.
